Hey there, and welcome to Episode #1 of my weekly podcast, Ask Dr. Emily!

I’d like to introduce myself, and then tell you a bit about what this podcast is about.

I’m Dr. Emily, and I’m a holistic doctor with 25 years of experience treating patients using diet, lifestyle, herbs and supplements. My specialty is guiding people in reversing and preventing chronic disease, and vastly improving health and quality of life, along the way.

I do this through education and inspiration – giving you the information you need to understand what is going on with your body, why it’s happening, and what to do about it.

So, I’m here to help you make positive, powerful, and lasting changes to your self care, so that you can and DO achieve vibrant good health, naturally, and affordably.

Each week on this podcast, we’ll explore a different aspect of a specific health issue, such as:

  • common and uncommon symptoms to look for,
  • typical root causes (meaning, the true culprits that are triggering the condition; because figuring out – and then properly addressing – the root causes is, as you can imagine, essential for true, lasting healing),
  • how to test for those root causes if you so choose (though that’s often not necessary, if you prefer to save your money for treatment), and
  • the most effective natural treatments, in my experience as a holistic doctor for 25 years, to address both symptoms and root cause issues.

And I want to clarify something right off the bat – what I aim to share here are what I call the big levers (shout out to Dr Peter Attia for this spot-on terminology) – these are the efforts that you can make that will have a big impact, the biggest bang for the buck, as it were – the “buck” being your energy and time as well as your dollars. What can you do, that is going to really be worth your effort? That’s what I look for, and what I share here.

Because there are almost always a lot of little things you can do to make small improvements, but what I want to encourage you to focus on instead are the few really impactful things you can do to make a big improvement. Because when you get a big improvement, and you feel noticeably better, it’s inspiring, and exciting, and it helps propel you forward to more positive changes, and it helps keep you on the path.

Usually, these big levers end up being a combo of diet and lifestyle changes, with support from herbs and supplements.

So, that’s what we’ve got for you on the road ahead – a look at the what, the why, and the how of various health issues, from a holistic and foundational perspective. And I so look forward to going on this journey with you, and helping empower you with knowledge and inspiration to vastly improve your health and quality of life.

So let’s get started! 🙂
